Can You Add Contest Rules

1. Stories can be on any theme or subject but must be original and written in English. They must also be for adult or young adult readers. (Porn, beastiality, and any adult/child relationship stories are excluded) Non-fiction is not eligible. Entrants must be 18 years or over.

2. Maximum length is 2,200 words. Entries should be typed, double or 1.5 spaced, in a plain legible font (Pt 12).  Each page should be numbered but carry no personal details about the author. Online entries are sent as email attachments. The file name must be the title of your story. (If your story is untitled, the file name must be the first five words of the story).

3. Closing date for receipt of entries is Monday, May 22, 2017 at Midnight EST. Winners will be contacted through email  and announced Monday, May 5, 2017 on The Indie's Nest Website, twitter, and facebook.

​

4. Entries should be made online and emailed to submissions@theindiesnest.com and are open to everyone (nationally and internationally). There is no limit to the number of entries and there is no entry fee.

​

5. Entries must not have been previously published in print or online, been broadcast or won a prize. Published online includes publication on your personal blog or website.

​

6. Entries will be read and judged anonymously.

​

7. Entries will not be returned so please keep a copy. No corrections or alterations can be made after entries have been received.

​

8. Prizes are as follows: 1st place: $100 Amazon Gift Card; 2nd place: $50 Amazon Gift Card and 3rd place: $25 Amazon Gift Card.

​

9. The results of the competition will be announced on The Indie's Nest website, twitter, and facebook.

​

10. No single story may win more than one prize. By entering, competitors accept the prize and their short story, with the author's name, will be published on The Indie's Nest website and The Indie's Nest Forum for up to a year from the closing date without extra remuneration.

11. Simultaneous submissions are permitted. Should your short story win a prize or be published elsewhere, please let us know so that we may remove it from the current award.

​

12. By entering, an acceptance of all The Indie's Nest rules are implied. Entries that fail to comply with our rules will be disqualified. The judges' decisions are final.
